The product is installed between the email server and the firewall, preferrably on a dedicated
server, and all email traffic is routed through it. Every e-mail message is copied in the filtering module
and then forwarded to the recipient. Copied messages are immediately indexed and made available for
searching.
It is possible to integrate with the EEPOS server various additional modules like virus protection
and spam filtering. Additional filters can be added both before and after archiving a copy of a message.
Filtering before archiving helps to eliminate unwanted mail before further processing so that these messages
will not be archived nor forwarded to the recipient. Filtering after archiving does result in a copy of the
message being archived, but not forwarded to the recipient.
